A brief of how bags was made

Oh my gosh! im so sorry for my disappearance.

my bloody net is so damn freaking slow. and that is such a turn off to blog. lol. and another reason was i am busy doing my project. im not lying. its the truth. =D

i cant even open people's blog to read. this must be Bernard. he is always leaving his internet on these days to download Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill.

and and thanks to that the net is slow and i got a new obsession. Gossip Girl.

Gossip girl is nice. its like One Tree Hill. full of drama. lol.

Anyway if you are wondering how bags were made.

now your question shall be answered in my way. =P

** This is actually my project that i did.

First take a sketch book and start to design how you want your bag to look like.

If you are wondering what is inside my sketch book then here is the answer.
i cut out pictures of bags from magazines for inspiration and i write down my comments about the bags.

i actually cut out a lot of pictures to fill up my sketch book.

Then i drew my final design.
i know it look ugly.

then, design how big you want your bag to be.
and plan your pattern.

Ohya! in my sketch book i also drew some stuff to explain instructions on how to make an evening bag.
that was the first bag i made.

Then put your pattern design on a big piece of thick paper with the actually size that you want.
then cut out the patterns.

Then, take your pattern and put it on your desired fabric.

Take a fabric chalk and trace the pattern onto the fabric.

Cut the fabric out.

and finally just sew your whole bag up.

~~~***~~~
Since this was an important project i did sample bags before i did the real thing.
well, you are suppose to do a practice first anyway cause your measurements could be wrong or there is something wrong with your design or your pattern? so it is always better to make a sample one first before you do the real thing.
can you imagine you want to make your bag with this very expensive fabric and then you didn't do any sample and just do the real bag straight at that spot and some how you cant finish the bag cause there is some problems with your bag measurements. and then your very expensive fabric will just go to a waste. how sad is that. a big waste of money.
and when you are doing a sample bag. use cheap fabric. that can save up a lot of cost.
Anyway, this is was my 1st try.
and it was a success.
And when my teacher asked me to try another time cause she think my first try was not all that successful, this happen!
2nd try = Fail!
As you can see, one side of the gusset fits well and the other side is too short.
then my teacher also suggest me to put on a zip.
so okay. i try that idea.
and yea i know that zip in the picture look ugly. lol.
3rd try = fail but better then 2nd try
For this, i used stretchable denim. and i regretted.
its not easy to sew cause it is stretchy and it made the top part to look ugly.
and there is so much extra fabric cause of the stretch.
and i tried adding the zipper. trust me, it is not easy to sew that in.
the 4th and final try = Total success!
everything was okay. nothing when wrong. like finally!
If you look nicely, you can see that the top part of the bag fits well this time.
Looking good. =D
I also added a zip pocket in the lining.
you know those pocket with zip that you have inside of your bag.
thats the one i did! =D
AND now for the real thing. the real bag that i am suppose to do and present it to my class and teacher and to also pass it up.
For the real thing i want to make my bag quilted. so i bought this spongy thing from spotlight. i forgot what is it really called.
Black left over fabric that i used to make my skirt and now to make the top of my bag.
Black silk to make the quilt
Red hot polyester for my bag's lining
Some other stuff that i also bought from spotlight to make a red belt for my bag.
which i didn't have the time for in the end.
and red zip for lining pocket.
and some clip buckle for the top part of my bag.
The red hot belt. since i bought a meter of this and didn't end up making a belt for my bag, i plan to use this and make a belt for myself.
what a good idea. =D
i start by tracing the pattern to my fabric
Then cut it out
Sew up my lining
and this! my quilted fabric. all my love and sweat is in it.
well, okay i exaggerate it.
anyway, i love it very much.
See how beautiful is it.
its like a pillow. =)
Then, i cut it out according to my pattern
saw the middle thing? that is the spongy thing.
Then i sew up the whole bag and that is how it look like.
SO BEAUTIFUL. lol.
of course i have to say it is beautiful! i made it and like finally after so many tries.
Saw that satin ribbon thing? the red belt is suppose to be there but its okay. now the satin ribbon take its place.
when i get my bag back i am going to make a red satin ribbon so my bag looks even hotter. lol.
There is my red hot zip
And the red hot lining
I find my bag is sexy. lol.
real life my bag look prettier then it is in the picture. i got loads of compliments from students in my class and teachers. =D
too bad the bag is not for sale. once i get the bag back from my teacher, its going to be my handbag. =D
anyway, sorry for not being very detail in this post. i didn't really have the time to make a tutorial about how to make this bag cause i kinda did the real bag. yea the one that i am suppose to past it up, on last day just right before the due date. so i was kinda rushing to make the bag. didnt have the time to take more pictures.
in total i counted, i guess i took like 9 hours to make the bag. i am not exaggerating it. i am serious. the quilting already took me like 2 hours and 30 minutes to 3 hours to make it.
quilting takes up a lot of time. but it is really nice and i love quilting.
So what do you guys think about my bag?
